Cheap beer neighbourhoods in Trondheim
Solsiden, Bakklandet and Midtbyen form the three main nightlife areas. Solsiden has the densest cluster of bars in short walking distance. Bakklandet is known for cafés and student-friendly pubs across the river. Midtbyen, around Torvet and Nordre, mixes traditional brown pubs with newer craft venues.
Student discounts in Trondheim
Trondheim has Norway's largest student population, and many venues offer a student rate with a valid student ID. Studentersamfundet and a few affiliated clubs run some of the lowest prices in the city, though they require membership.
Happy hour and recurring deals
Several pubs in Midtbyen and around Solsiden offer happy hour on weekdays, usually between 3pm and 7pm. We show happy hour windows alongside regular prices so you can plan accordingly.
Getting around
The city centre, Solsiden and Bakklandet are within walking distance of each other. For Lerkendal, Moholt and Gløshaugen take a bus or taxi. AtB monthly passes are worth it if several of you commute regularly.
